Baystate Tent proudly travels to Boston, Massachusetts, to provide professional event rental services for all residents and businesses.

Tents that work on Boston sites

Boston sites are often paved, and a frame tent is usually the best choice on hard surfaces. We weight frame tents with concrete ballast blocks instead of stakes, so they work on a patio or parking lot. Canopy tents and sailcloth tents need stakes that can go into the ground, most commonly grass or dirt.

Not sure what fits your space? Send us photos, measurements and your guest count, and we’ll tell you. Our FAQ also covers installing tents on pavement and patios.

Luckily, Baystate Tent is fully stocked with everything you need for outdoor events. We are proud to be Boston’s one-stop tent and party accessories shop!

In addition to tents, we rent tables and chairs, linens, flooring and staging, bars and grills, so one call covers the whole setup.

Boston tent permits, handled

Boston requires a building permit for every tent, no matter how small. You’ll also need a fire permit if the tent is over 400 square feet, will have more than 49 people under it, or the total tent space on the site is over 700 square feet.

We handle the permit for you. Our administrative fee is $250, plus the city’s permit fees. The city has up to a month to approve a permit, and many come back sooner, so book early enough to leave that time. You’ll find more on our tent permit page.

Boston delivery

Boston orders have a $1,000 rental order minimum. When we choose the timing (delivery Wednesday to Friday, pickup the following Monday to Wednesday), delivery is typically $360 round trip plus a fuel surcharge. If you need a specific time, we price it by the job. Deliveries run rain or shine. Our service area page has more on where we deliver.
